The Since 1854 collection pays homage to the brand’s iconic monogram motif in a fresh new way, featuring an interesting mix of Monogram flowers and the number ‘1854’, which is the House’s founding date, in a canvas jacquard material. A refined twist on multiple classic motifs from the Maison, the brand has now added a new hue to its Since 1854 collection, which adds to the line’s overall vintage feel: monogram jacquard denim. Longtime Louis Vuitton fans will remember the brand’s iconic Denim Monogram collection from the mid-2000s and though this jacquard is reminiscent of the past it also feels incredibly fresh and modern.

The Since 1854 Bleu pieces are featured in the brand’s fall/winter campaign, worn by the likes of Alicia Vikander and Mona Tougaard. The images were shot by creative director Nicolas Ghesquière, who invited some of his close friends into his photography studio. He chose some of his favorite faces to appear in the campaign, people red personalities inspire him and those he feels are kindred spirits. Ghesquière expressed how personal this collection is to him, and the designer’s images represent a complete creative hong at a critical time in fashion.

The images showcase the denim jacquard print on bags such as the Dauphine, Pochette Metis, and Vanity bag, though the new 1854 Bleu is also available on other silhouettes such as the Speedy B, Sac Plat and the Neverfull. Perfect for the modern handbag lover with a love for things of the past, the new blue hue is a more contemporary take on pieces that otherwise have a more classic and vintage feel.
